The Secret to Understanding Shipping and Freight

Share

Come with me on a journey. I’ll be sharing posts from time to time to give you a peek behind the curtain of this extraordinary shipping business. This is my inaugural post. If you don’t already know me, you’ll soon learn that I’m a straight shooter. I’ll reveal the good, bad and the ugly, exposing the tricks and tips that will make you a more savvy shipper. I’ll be covering everything you ever want to know and many things they don’t want you to know. I’ll take requests and include some topics that customers ask me each week; some things you may be curious about and other things you didn’t even know you needed to know.

I purchased this franchise in January 2019, did my diligence before signing the contract, spent six months in training and continue to learn something new every day. It’s a fun and fascinating business with ups and downs, twists and turns. One of my first and earliest lessons was to not ride the rollercoaster but to take all the wacky ups and downs of the business in stride. Logistics is one of the oldest industries in the world, dating back to the supply systems of the middle ages. But in many respects, it is still a wild, wild west, figuring itself out in the midst of evolving technology and quickly changing consumer habits – not to mention a global pandemic.

Like in many other industries, one of the most important things to note is that the little guy is often not given a fair shake. If you don’t ship lots of envelopes, packages, pallets, truckloads or containers, by ground, air or sea, you don’t get the best prices or terms. Actually, no matter how big the company or organization, getting the best rates and service options has less to do with the size of your company and everything to do with your frequency of shipping. You could book one huge shipment each year that makes all the difference to your success, but for shipping companies, it doesn’t qualify you for their top levels of service and volumes discounts are out of the question.

That’s where InXpress comes in. I bought this franchise for lots of reasons and one is my passion for helping leaders discover new ways to grow their businesses and organizations. I started my career as a sales executive with IBM and went through one of the best training programs in the world. I learned to solve problems, read between the lines and to creatively find resources to surpass customer expectations. But most of all, I learned that nothing is black and white. There’s always a way to improve, to reach new heights and to break through barriers.

My commitment to you is that my team and I will do everything within our power, as your shipping partner, to find you the best solution for moving your goods domestically or internationally. We’ll provide the cheapest international shipping and freight quotes and the best service available. Things may not always go as planned, they hardly ever do in this business, but you’ll know what we know when we know it and you’ll have an advocate who always has your best interest in mind. Best of all, you’ll have access to discounted rates not available elsewhere and the highest level of service on the market. Sign up for a complimentary shipping portal and let’s take this journey together and uncover secrets along the way.
